Description
We are currently recruiting a TQM Graduate for our well established Manufacturing client based in Newport.

Permanent Role.

The package details are as follows:

  • Salary: 28k per annum.
Working Hours: 39 hours per week.

  • Shifts to be 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, to 4.00pm Friday.
  • Holiday: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Pension: autoenrolment at 4%, matched by the Company up to 5%.
  • Life cover at three times basic salary, whilst actively contributing to the pension scheme

Job Role:

To establish mechanisms to consistently gather and analyse data associated with the production process. Identify problems and opportunities to improve the production process developing and propose improvement plans and technological developments. Utilise appropriate TQM Tools and promote a culture of Total Quality Management throughout the depot.

Accountabilities

Work with the production team to promote a culture of TQM

  • Support production teams in the day to day understanding and operation of TQM methodology.
  • Assist with planning production to include tasks such as prioritising jobs/batches and assigning work to the relevant machines to optimise efficiency
  • Create production sheets for production and update the foreman book with the status of production
  • Monitor the shop floor to ensure adherence to the daily/weekly delivery and production schedules

Identify issues in the production and distribution process and propose improvements

  • Assist the production team with investigating and identifying discrepancies relating to H&S, customer disputes, quality etc.
  • Supervise and assist in the administration of Total Quality Management process

Collect and analyse data and propose improvements that will enhance the efficiency of the business' Production Team

  • Understand shop floor working methods and collect data relating to production operations
  • Analyse data and propose methods of improvement that will enhance the efficiency of the operations
  • Develop depot action plans that prioritise improvement activities that will deliver efficiencies
  • Plan, coordinate and execute various projects to improve plant processes and record all improvements, adjusting relevant documentation
  • Monitor and record key performance indicators (KPI's) such as Tonnes Per Man Hour (TPMH), Scrap, Transport Utilisation etc.

  • Manage specific projects or undertake specific project activity as determined by the business or line manager
  • Travel to specific locations in order to undertake role requirements as required
  • Represent your function or business at meetings or events as required
  • Undertake any reasonable request in order to support the needs of the business
