HIA Surveyor

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for a confident, driven individual seeking a role within Lambeth's HIA Team under the Housing Directorate.

A home improvement agency will aim: To enable those in need of support to maintain their independence in their chosen home for the foreseeable future.

This includes older people, people on low incomes, disabled people, and other vulnerable groups in the private sector.

This outcome would normally be achieved by supporting people throughout the repair, adaptation, or improvement process, so that the individual is able to remain in their own home in a warm, safe, and secure environment.

Your role will be to deliver and monitor HIA major repairs, contributing to the efficient performance of the service, and to the achievement of statutory and local targets.

Carry out inspections relating to property standards, adaptations, and service requests to ensure that the proper and relevant national and local standards are in place.

Enforce provision of legislation relating to private sector housing and public health issues.

Support execution of a range of building works (typically £2k - £25k value) including remedying disrepair works in default and disability adaptations to properties from survey through to completion.

About you
Educated to degree level or equivalent or demonstrable suitable experience at a relevant level (e.g. in housing), OR An in-depth level of knowledge and experience in a relevant area of work.

Can work well cross-functionally and to lead on specific projects - ensuring all stakeholders have a voice and services are tailored to meet demand
