THE ROLE


An exciting opportunity is available within the SGN Network Directorate for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to manage a team to develop and project manage gas entry connections from inception through to final gas to grid.


The role is key to ensuring SGN delivers on government net-zero targets and SGN's ambition to green the gas in our networks.

The role will involve managing a small team of individuals to ensure biomethane and gas entry connections are processed and deliveredto customer timescales, ensuring all applicable safety, legislation and SGN policies are adhered to.

The role will provide exposure to the biomethane industry and the emerging hydrogen blending / hydrogen 100% future with interactions with the SGN H100 projectand planned 20% hydrogen blending transition.


The role also provides an ideal opportunity for an individual interested in developing their skills in the renewables sector and learning about the whole gas industry including aspects of government regulation, project financing requirements, technical requirementsincluding gas quality and safety compliance.


The role will require the individual to project manage and deliver / develop gas entry connections, which are primarily concentrated in the biomethane sector, from initial customer contact through to final gas to grid.

The role also includes liaising withproject operators post commissioning to ensure full compliance with SGN's range of policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING


The individual should be fully experienced in both project management and the delivery of complex technical solutions and be cognisant of applicable regulatory/commercial/legal aspects of the biomethane industry and also the way in which the GB gas industryoperates.

Ideally the individual should be qualified to degree level in either an engineering discipline or project management.


Do you have what we are looking for?

  • Effective people manager with a focus on delivering projects to required timescales.
  • With a positive and flexible approach to work, you will be highly motivated with good organisational, diagnostic and problemsolving skills.
  • In addition, you need to be an effective communicator, both in written form and orally at all levels.
  • A good level of technical knowledge on the operation of the gas network is essential, with a degree qualification in an appropriate discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge/experience of Industry Codes, Regulations and Legislation preferred.
  • A certain amount of travel will be required to fulfil this role.
  • Full UK driving licence
