Summary:


  • Job Title: Workshop Controller.
  • Location: Edgware, North West London.
  • Salary: Up to £38,000 basic salary (depending on experience) + excellent bonus
  • OTE 5055K.
  • The role is fulltime and permanent. 45 hours a week
  • Monday to Friday and Saturdays on a rota basis.
Our client is a well-established car retailer with dealerships all over London.

They are now looking for a Workshop Controller for their Dealership in Edgware.


Job Purpose.


Reporting to the Aftersales Manager, you will be responsible for driving the standard in customer cars leading and motivating the staff and facilities of the Workshop efficiently to ensure a high level of productivity and quality.


You'll motivate technicians to ensure targets are being met as well as ensuring a high level of productivity and quality of service is being delivered.

You will also be responsible for tracking the progress of vehicles through the Workshop and liaising with Service Reception thereby maintaining customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of qualified apprentice technicians.
  • Allocate work orders to technicians, manage technician clocking on/off, and rostering.
  • Ensure workshop operations meet brand standards for quality by conducting regular quality checks on completed works.
  • Drive service profitability by ensuring maximum time savings and upsell.
  • Manage and update workshop technical solutions including eVHC and service booking database.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to service customers both facetoface and by phone.
  • Assist and work closely with the Service Advisor team as required.

Essential Skills and Experience:


  • IT literate, and familiar with webbased processes and stock management systems.
  • Evidence of previous service department experience.
  • Evidence of coaching and motivating a team.
  • Experience working as a fully qualified technician (preferred level 3).
  • Full driving license held with fewer than 9 penalty points.
  • Evidence of 'Right to work in the UK'.
