Forde Abbey is one of the south west's leading heritage tourist attractions dating back to the 12th century. The former Cistercian monastery is surrounded by 30 acres of award winning gardens.

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time (24 hours per week) rural estate bookkeeper to join our friendly team near Chard in Somerset.

This is a varied role across a diverse collection of businesses from Milking goats, a pedigree herd of beef to atourism attraction that also does weddings, functions and events.

There is also a portfolio of let properties.

The day-to-day roles of this position will include:

• Inputting financial data.
• Posting transactions through the purchase ledger, sales ledger and the nominal ledger.
• IT skill using accountancy packages.
• Previous Accounts experience, either qualifiedbyexperience or AAT level
• Knowledge of Sage 50 and Sage Payroll.
• VAT reconciliations and submission of VAT returns.
• End of year reporting.
• Calculate accruals, prepayment, variance currency.
• Dealing with HMRC and our accountants.
• Producing management accounts.
• Bank and credit card reconciliation.
• Maintaining and keeping concise, accurate bookkeeping files.
• Handling all business payments and dealing with suppliers.
