Position Description

The SQL Developer role is responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining SQL Server databases within a key project for CGI.

The programme of work is in collaboration with our client in the Defence sector, based at a site near Reading.

Occasional travelto Customer secure sites may also be required.

Due to the secure nature of the programme/role, you will need to hold the highest level of UK Security Clearance, or be eligible to go through National Security Vetting to obtain this clearance.

Your future duties and responsibilities
The SQL Developer will work within the Managed Applications workstream, and will be responsible for:

  • Building databases and validating their stability and efficiency.
  • Creating views, functions, and stored procedures.
  • Designing database tables and dictionaries.
  • Developing scripts, procedures, and triggers for automation.
  • Maintaining data quality, backups, and data security.
  • Design, create and maintain databases in accordance with the Workstream plans.
  • Ensure compliance of all Database Design work with the current baseline of Managed Applications workstream business processes defined by the workstream, together with the standards, processes and procedures defined in the current Quality Plan.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • SQL, covering DML, DDL, DCL and TCL.
  • SQL Server, including SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.
  • Experience with.
NET framework.

  • Database administration, particularly data security.
  • Good problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to produce high quality technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of VMware.
  • Application packaging/repackaging.
  • Practical knowledge of scripting tools (e.g. PowerShell, VBScript and Python).
  • Experience of working in a secure environment.
