Our Transport Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Transport function at our Manchester site, this includes all employees, temporary staff, third party suppliers and vehicle movements.

You will work a Monday to Friday shift pattern on days; flexibility is required as you will need to be available out of hours to resolve any issues that arise.

You will work as one of two Transport Operations Supervisors, reporting to the Transport Operations Manager. You will work closely with the Fleet Compliance Manager and Driver Trainer.

The main duties of this role include:

  • Managing the Transport function and being the main point of contact on site for all Transport issues.
  • Ensuring legal compliance is maintained.
  • Monitoring performance and efficiencies in the team.
  • Coaching and leading the team to maintain motivation and engagement.
  • Work closely with all other sites to ensure maximum efficiencies within the Transport operation.
  • Planning use of vehicles and drivers efficiently to ensure customer deliveries are fulfilled.

Essential:


  • Experience in a similar role within a multisite and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communicator across all levels.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages, reporting and MI.
  • Flexible, cando approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • National CPC holder.

Desirable:


  • Experience of working in a unionised environment.
  • Bulk tanker experience.
