Plant Mechanic Lecturer - Inchinnan

Salary:
£36,803 - £47,492 depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Role purpose:


Reporting to the Programme Manager the Lecturer is part of the training and delivery team and is responsible for the presentation, updating and development of courses at the College that are, suitable for meeting the training needs of the industry.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities:


  • Leading on embedding Ofsted's education inspection framework into the vocational training delivery to ensure that course objectives are achieved and meet ESFA requirements, both practical and theoretical, in line with Grade 1 outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Ensure that course delivery material, equipment, training aids, Schedule It (where applicable) and documentation is continually reviewed and updated to ensure delivery requirements are meeting current guidelines.
  • Promote and maintain a safe learning environment ensuring that whilst the delivery of programmes is conducted that the health and safety of all involved is maintained throughout training utilising our SafeSmart program.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Instructor to help develop Instructional staff and apprentice Instructors.
  • Act as lead for maintaining and developing NCC's eLearning portfolio enabling all trainees' course reports, assessment forms, and other relevant documentation is accurately captured, as required by awarding bodies and NCC quality procedures via One File.
  • Play an integral role in Supporting the Colleges continuous quality improvement plan, for the teaching and learning process and in line with Ofsted requirements. Ensuring that a standardised approach is adopted throughout the Colleges.
  • Plan and prioritise work given by line manager.
  • Identify improvements/innovations in delivery to be supported with involvement of line manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Adhere to manufacturers Instruction and information, always follow College Safe Systems of work and Risk Assessments.
  • The role requires the individual to lead by example.
  • Communicate with programme managers.

Knowledge and Experience:


Essential

  • Recognised apprenticeship and or qualifications will be required as specified dependent on Curriculum area applied for.
  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification and be willing to work towards level 5 Teaching Qualification.
  • Hold a mentoring and or coaching qualification or work toward that.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy.
  • Sound proven knowledge of current industry practices and experience/ability in construction skills relevant to post in one off the following areas: Construction, Access, Health and Safety or Plant.
  • Extensive experience within own vocational area or across multiple disciplines within the industry.
  • Proven ability to motivate, enthuse and develop positive attitudes in learners and support them to overcome barriers to learning and progression.
  • Motivated, well organised, and efficient.
  • Hold a CPCS tester (Plant) and or NVQ/Assessor status and or any other relevant Curriculum specific qualifications as required by scheme rules.
  • Hold SMSTS

Desirable

  • Hold a relevant management or supervisory qualification.
  • Deliver training across multiple Curriculum areas.
  • Hold the relevant qualification and experience to be able to deliver teacher training quals.
  • Evidence of attendance of Safeguarding Training.
  • Hold a relevant NEBOSH Construction or Equivalent Health and Safety qualification (not relevant for the Functional Skills Lecturers)

Special Conditions/Other Requirements:


  • Full UK driving licence
  • Must be prepared to travel and work at other locations with occasional overnight stays.
  • Must have DBS / Disclosure Scotland
