GMP Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client in Stroud for a Legal Secretary to provide much needed secretarial and administrative support to a busy Legal Firm, working withing the
Private Client department.


Our client is a highly recognisable and hugely successful Legal Firm that offers a full range of legal services for both individuals and businesses.

You will provide full and comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to all fee earning staff ensuring duties and responsibilities are conducted efficiently and thoroughly, contributing to the effective delivery of legal services to clients andensuring that client care is always treated as the utmost priority.


Legal Secretary main duties:

  • You will undertake all tasks of a secretarial nature supporting partners and fee earners
  • Audio typing, dictation and minute taking
  • Managing diary appointments and arranging both internal and external meetings
  • Physical and electronic filing, general admin duties such as faxing and photocopying
  • Dealing with complex and confidential documentation and client control
  • Deal with client related matters assigned by fee earners, correspondence, and queries on own initiative commensurate with ability and experience.
  • To manage own workload and liaise with assigned fee earner to ensure efficient execution of work is always achieved.

Legal Secretary desired skills and experience:

  • Previous secretarial experience in a legal environment, accuracy, and great attention to detail
  • Minim 70 wpm, accurate word processing, including audio transcription
  • Excellent communication skills with a good telephone manner and client care expertise are essential
  • Diary management and the ability to deliver great work in a demanding and fast paced office environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Good interpersonal skills and smart appearance
  • Good organisational skills and ability to deal with routine tasks without supervision
  • Flexible approach to provide cover/assistance for other positions when required
  • Strong IT Skills: adaptability to information systems quickly, ability to learn how to use case management systems effectively
This is a full time, permanent position, Monday - Friday, 35 hours a week.


You will be rewarded with a highly competitive basic salary up to £24,000 which is demonstrable with relevant experience, plus excellent fringe benefits.
