FUNDING OFFICER

Office or Hybrid Working

£26.5k pro rata

30 hours per week

Opened in 1994 we are the region's leading and the world's first interactive, immersive, and memorable safety education charity.

As pioneers of invaluable immersive safety education, we are proud to have spearheaded the development of a UK wide network of safety centres.

We established the National Safety Centre Alliance, and our CEO is Vice-Chair of the National Alliance.


We provide high quality interactive, immersive, and memorable safety education and training to children, young people and adults across Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire, North London, Oxfordshire and beyond.


The Safety Centre saves lives by showing children, young people, and adults how to stay safe, understand risks and avoid accidents or dangerous situations using realistic and immersive learning experiences.

Our projects are delivered either at our education centre Hazard Alley or directly into schools and community spaces across the region.


Our vision is a society where all children, young people and adults have access to interactive, immersive, and memorable safety education and training, enabling safe and flourishing communities across our region.


THE OPPORTUNITY
You must be self-motivated and use your own initiative to attain the income targets.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating a strong pipeline of potential funders through robust and regular research of funding and partnership opportunities.
  • Collaborating with Education & Centre Teams to create new and innovative funding proposals to meet the changing needs safety needs of the region.
  • Developing and managing existing funding partnerships with a range of stakeholders from across the region.
  • Organise events for our existing and new funding partners to showcase the work Safety
Centre is achieving with their donations.

  • Overseeing the stewardship offering for funders including written reports/updates.
  • Recording all data on the fundraising database and running reports to track income and trends.
  • To undertake duties as reasonably required as part of a small and supportive team to ensure the smooth running of all operations.
  • Contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Occasional evening and weekend working required for which time off in lieu will be given.
  • The job description represents the primary requirements necessary for the Safety Centre at this current time. However, it will be expected that roles may expand as our operations develop.

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven track record of meeting agreed targets.
  • 3 years minimum trusts/partnership fundraising experience.
  • A selfstarter, willing to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Outstanding written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the organisation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience of prospect research, identifying funding opportunities and interpreting information
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively about fundraising potential and contribute to the development of strategic planning for the organisation as a whole
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage own time and achieve strict / multiple deadlines
  • High level of IT competence, excellent internet research skills and database management
