We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Technical Clerk to join our team.As a Technical Clerk, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our technical department, ensuring smooth operations and efficient communication within the team.
To be responsible and accountable for ensuring accurate interpretation of work packages before issue of fabrications and any installation.The position will involve extensive cross functional interaction with the estimating, operations, purchasing and sales.
The prime focus will be to ensure that all the necessary technical information is clearly defined on the drawings before issue to the workshop for fabrication in full compliance with the appropriate specifications and scope of works.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure that the most uptodate documents and drawings are being used by liaising with the project manager responsible to resolve problems, schedule work and coordinate the project manager's requirements.
- Responsible for all engineering activities within the workshop on projects, including control of drawing receipt, project specifications, engineering isometric drawings and development and distribution of work packages to production in a priority sequence and to project specification.
- Coordinating the management of materials, including stock allocation, procurement of materials, traceability and production of material reports, when required.
- To ensure that any subcontract requirements are identified, and the correct specifications are recorded, this could include NDT, painting, galvanising, special processes etc.
- Lease with other departments and sites to resolve any technical and nontechnical issues.
- To liaise with Doc Control and schedule priority to allow the necessary information to be entered into LVE tracking database to enable full use of its functionality when required.
- To act as document control within the fabrication department
- Promote and demonstrate the capabilities and functioning of the company database and systems as and when required.
- To ensure all associated clerical duties are completed as assist with other administrative activities when required.
Other Duties
- To provide support during customer meetings and visits when required, which may require travel at short notice.
- To assist the estimating department during busy periods
- Working with the operations team to manage internal customer and quality audits.
- Actively participate in projects when appropriate.
- Any other reasonable task as requested by the company. To be willing to attend any relevant training to carry out those duties required.
Person Specification
Skills and Experience
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Computer literate.
- Ability to compose accurate technical and general business documentation to a consistently high level.
