Equities Trading Systems Engineer

As a Barclays Equities Trading Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the provision of high quality, bespoke support of the Electronic Trading plant which underpins the Cash Equities business.

You will provide technical support, continuous service improvement, infrastructure architecture and project management (a key objective is to contribute towards the ongoing build-out of the Electronic Trading Cash Architecture platform).

What will you be doing?:

Providing strong technical leadership within the Electronic Trading RTB team
Contributing significantly towards the buildout of the Electronic Trading Cash Architecture platform & ET estate refresh to newer hardware
Providing technical direction and leadership during incidents
Taking accountability for the resiliency and capacity management of the production environment
Being accountable for certifying trading termination mechanisms (TTMs)
Embedding RTB within the Application SDLC attending sprint meetings and providing nonfunctional requirements
Contributing towards the Change Delivery function for Electronic Trading EMEA; being the "Ops" contributor to DevOps
Coaching and mentoring more junior team members across geographies

What we're looking for:

Experience of supporting Algorithmic trading platforms and Market connectivity platforms with exposure to exchange APIs and protocols
Experience in Bash/Perl scripting and/or Python/Java programming

Skills that will help you in the role:

Experience of middleware technologies eg. Tibco RV/Solace
Experience with scheduling tools
Knowledge of ITRS Geneos, including deployment of netprobes and Gateway configuration
Experience with Corvil latency monitoring and configuration
