Kingston College are seeking a Head of Section to lead and manage the Engineering section and be a member of the School Management Group (SMG).


The Head of Section and other members of the SMG are responsible for communicating the policies and procedures we agree and adopt, and then ensuring that all staff deliver them to a high quality and comply with the expectations set.


The Head of Section will contribute to the teaching of programmes offered within the section, with a main focus on the BTEC level 3 provision, to ensure students receive a first-class experience that enables them to progress and attain their qualificationsat high levels.

The section delivers a range of Engineering programmes from level 2 up to HNC/D.


As Head of Section, you will need to have a sound knowledge of the curriculum offered and a firm grasp of current and impending changes to the curriculum.

You will need to understand the process of curriculum development, accreditation and validation, andhave knowledge of the funding mechanisms management and how these affect the School's provision.


A teaching qualification is not essential; however, we would like you to be recognised as a good or better teacher and be willing to undergo teaching training in line with current regulations.
