Description
The function of the LCRN Support Officer is to provide an effective administrative support service within the LCRN.

This is a varied role and the Support Officer is expected to be involved in a range of activities across general and research administration, including supporting our workforce and communications activities.

The post holder will need to manage their own workload effectively, undertake project work as necessary and will be expected to support and liaise with all the LCRN team members across the network geography.

Providing administrative support to the CRN Thames Valley and South Midlands Chief Operating Officer, and the senior network team.

Event management

Supporting the Communications and Engagement Manager, and the Workforce Development team.

The NIHR Clinical Research Network is the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS.

The network structure operates nationally across England through a national coordinating centre and 15 local branches delivering research across all disease areas.

The NIHR Clinical Research Network Thames Valley and South Midlands (LCRN) is hosted by Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We operate from OUH Cowley, which is based in Unipart House, Garsington Road, Oxford OX4 2PG, and most of the team spend some time in the office and some time working remotely.

Key responsibilities include
- providing support to the Chief Operating Officer, and senior team. This includes diary management, arranging meetings, writing up minutes, and maintaining good office procedures and accurate databases of contacts
- helping with event management including obtaining quotes from external providers, liaising with speakers, taking responsibility for publicity and publicity materials, sending invitations, compiling delegate packs, and issuing attendance certificates.
- providing support to the Communications and Engagement Manager, including processing patient surveys, helping to develop and distribute newsletters and other forms of communications and liaison with patient groups.
- providing support to the Workforce Development team. This may include managing training bookings and administration and participating in local and national training initiatives and programmes, providing training, guidance, and support to stakeholders across the region as required
