The opportunity:
To support the purchasing function by ensuring that production and non
- production materials, consumables and services are ordered in a timely manner. This will include supporting day to day purchasing activities to ensure all direct and indirect site requirements are met with consideration to Cost, Quality and Service elements. In addition to supporting
sites, the divisional and group procurement initiatives the post holder must
work in compliance with Company Policies and Purchasing procedures to provide
an efficient cost-effective service to internal and external customers.
How you will impact WestRock:
- To order paper and packaging in accordance with production plan and forecast for two leaflet sites
- To ensure deliveries are made on time in full, expedite/ escalate where necessary
- To manage stock levels for paper and packaging materials in line with KPl's
- To proactively work in partnership with production team to improve the flow of communication regarding materials required to ensure zero material stockouts
- Reporting
- Generating, maintaining, and issuing a range of reports on inventory levels and value; spend analysis
- To raise, issue and complete purchase orders for defined category spend in line with purchasing procedures
- To set up item codes, prices in V2 MRP system in line with item code convention; manage item code data base and update pricing when required
- To support research and analysis for key business projects and developments within the business to support continuous improvement, cost savings initiatives and strategic change directed from customers, or corporate or at local site level.
- Develop and maintain a professional relationship with colleagues across all departments to improve the flow of communication and understanding within the business. This involves liaising with all relevant personnel in planning, production, finishing and customer services
- To be proactive in the pursuit and participation of continuous improvement projects and operational excellence
- To complete all necessary administrative tasks (electronic & paper)
What you need to succeed:
- Awareness of materials and supply chain used in production
- Awareness of procurement systems
- Relevant experience of statistical analysis and trend analysis
- Negotiation/influencing skills.
- Project management and problemsolving skills.
- Commercial Acumen
- Efficiency and results focused
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Programmes
