Reports to - Nursery Manager or her deputy

Job Purpose:

Lead the delivery of the care and education for the 2 year old children within the nursery.
Manage the smooth daily running of this service.
Be responsible for the planning and assessment within this group, including the carrying out of the two year old progress checks.
To work as part of the nursery and EYFS group as a whole.
To support team members in providing a high standard of care and education.
To provide and emotionally secure, warm, stimulating and safe environment, appropriate to the needs of the children including differing cultures and religious backgrounds.
Work alongside manager and deputy to produce the nursey cohort tracking documents.

Responsibilities:

Ensure staff follow best practice and strict compliance to all regulatory and legal requirements, including health and safety requirements.
Ensure the provisions core purposes and standards are met.
Promote and represent nursery as required.
Monitor and evaluate the nursery provision along with the leaders and manager.
Ensure that ratios are maintained.
Plan appropriate learning activities and challenges based on the needs and development stages of the children.
Setting up and storing equipment appropriately.
To have an overview of all the records kept by your staff team.
Gather evidence which shows the progress children are making.
Be responsible for ensuring two year old check is carried out.
Provide a high standard of health and hygiene.

Carry out domestic duties such as, preparing snacks and meals when required.
Work in partnership with parents, consulting and sharing information with them about the needs and progress of their child/children.
To promote policies and ethos of the nursery.
To promote positive values, attitudes and encourage good behaviour among the children in nursery.
To attend staff meetings as required.
To be aware of and comply with all policies and procedures.
To be a proactive and supportive member of the team.
To participate positively and professionally in effective relationships with team members.
To attend relevant courses and learning activities as required.

Salary:
£20,592.00-£21,216.00 per year
