WHAT TO EXPECT


Based on the Solihull site, the Product Compliance Centre's primary role is to monitor Exhaust Emissions of all UK built JLR vehicles.

Conformity of Production (CoP) testing is carried out to ensure production vehicles conform to the type approval standards for both specification and performance.


As a Shift Leader you'll lead a team of test technicians who are responsible for preparing finished vehicles for test, test execution and returning the vehicle to an as built specification prior to despatch.

You will have regular interaction with different parts of the organisation - both internal and external to Product Compliance, including third party suppliers.


As part of a strong team, reporting to the Emissions Test and Facilities Lead, you'll be expected to work to a high standard, have excellent attention to detail and embrace the Creator's Code and Reimagine strategy.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure Health and Safety procedures are adhered to, including identifying safety hazards and risks, supporting corrective actions and reporting via AiR
  • Ensure total productive maintenance (TPM), 5s and Housekeeping standards maintained and improved.
  • Cover all aspects of the team role during of planned and unplanned absence.
  • Run the start of shift team meetings, facilitate shuft handovers and initiate return to works.
  • Ensure essential facility checks are carried out in accordance with the schedule.
  • Update and maintenance of team training documentation.
  • Support of internal and external audits.
  • Schedule vehicles through the test facility.
  • Management of facility fuel (stock take, supply and deliveries) and miscellaneous procurement.
  • Liase with Site Services to ensure remedial works carried out in facility.
  • Manage technical issues such as investigating vehicle, test and facilities issues and escalating to the cross functional teams when required.
  • Any other activities when requested my the leadership team.
  • Conduct and lead 1:1s and people engagement activities.
  • Fuel management

WHAT YOU-LL NEED

  • A Full clean driving licence.
  • Experience in a Powertrain environment, with a knowledge of emission or engine test facility requirements.
  • Knowledge of company H&S requirements, Risk assessments & COSHH.
  • Use of JLR propriatery software and the Microsoft suite
  • Ability to work on a 3 shift rotation.
  • The ability to carry out fault diagnosis.
  • The ability to work with mínimal supervision demonstrating Commitment, Flexibility and Selfmotivation.
  • Conduct Risk assessments
