This is a hybrid role - A mix of working from our Manchester office, along with the flexibility of working from home too.

What will I be doing?

Profitably underwrite Commercial Combined on a casebycase basis, within Covéa's appetite and underwriting criteria.
Underwrite within Covéa strategy and authority limits and refer all cases outside of strategy or individual limits.
Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues and brokers as well as identifying new opportunities within our network.
Attend training, review meetings and social events when required.
Maintain, and endeavour to exceed, agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.
Working closely with senior underwriters and supporting those more junior
Maintain an accurate audit trail using Covéa systems, practices and procedures.
Develop and maintain an up to date knowledge of:
The commercial lines market
The broking marketplace
Legislation and litigation which could affect the writing of business

What would we like to see in you?

Strong trading skills with experience in developing broker accounts to achieve profitable growth.
Underwriting knowledge, specifically with previous experience in Commercial Combined
Motivated, driven and adapts to change, positively displaying a can do attitude.
Willingly provides help and support to others and has the ability to work cooperatively with others
Demonstrates a keenness to undertake professional insurance qualifications
Passionate about own development within the insurance industry
The ability to assess and analyse data accurately and effectively
The ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
Good problem solving skills
The ability to work independently but also as part of a team to deliver common goals.
The ability to demonstrate good relationship management skills
The ability to demonstrate meeting & exceeding personal and team objectives
An awareness of the market and legal/industry developments
