L'Arche Highland
is a Community of around 132 people, including folk with and without learning disabilities, Support Assistants, volunteers, friends and neighbours, based in Inverness.
We are part of a global network of communities where people with and without learning disabilities live and share in life together, working for a world where we all belong.
We have a workshop and four large shared houses. We also support people to live in their own properties.
We provide supported living opportunities in one of our four shared houses, keeping that original community spirit, or to folk in their own homes, depending upon preference and need.
This role is to support a person with learning disability living independently in their home in the Holm area of Inverness.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reports to:
House Leader
Hours of work: 37.5 hours, working on shift/rota basis 5 days a week with 2 free days including weekends and evenings.
Salary:
£ £11.15 per hour (pay review pending)
Place of work:
Holm, Inverness
Start date: 15 April 2024
Main purpose of the role:
As a care and support worker, you will support a 33-year old man with learning disability who is seeking independent living in Inverness.

The main purpose of this role is making this happen for our core member.
Person Centred Support
You will:
- Provide high quality support to people with learning disabilities in line with L'Arche values, policies
Support of people with learning disabilities
- Assist with the personal hygiene, dress and health needs of individuals in their home
- Facilitate individuals to meet their leisure, social, practical and spiritual needs
- Encourage individuals to in their ongoing development of independence
Building an atmosphere of mutual relationships
You will:
- Foster positive relationships with both assistants and people with a learning disability
- Assist in celebrations and support spiritual life so that there is an atmosphere of welcome and friendship
