Our nursery are looking for a cook to join our growing team.

Monday to Friday 9-1

At Little Acorns Nursery we aim to create a feeling of a home from home where your child can feel inspired, grow in confidence and receive the best level of care and attention.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Responsible for the preparation and cooking of midmorning and mid afternoon snack, lunch and tea for all children. numbers of children vary between 20 and 40 per day.
Preparing and cooking of alternative meals for children with special dietary needs and baby weaning as directed by staff and Senior Managers
Checking that all allergies are catered for correctly and that all food bought in is double checked every time for nuts and other ingredients
Filling out COSH forms correctly for any children with serious allergies before food is served
Help with the serving of meals
Clearing and cleaning of pots and cooking utensils
Maintain the kitchen and food hygiene as well as health and safety of the kitchen
Taking responsibility of equipment e.g. cooker, extractor fan and maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout
Cleaning and clearing the dining room after snack and meals
To maintain adequate stores and food stuffs in appropriate storage conditions and rotation
To order all food and maintain monthly records for stocktaking purposes of all food
Menu planning alongside the Senior Management Team
