There has never been a more exciting time to join Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) and we are looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Financial Reporting.


ICHT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country - with a turnover of £1.5bn and a pool of 14,500 talented colleagues, we provide acute and specialist care to over a million patients each year in North West London (NWL) and beyond.

We are looking for a talented leader to join the Finance team at a key time.


The Head of Financial Reporting is a key role in the Finance Directorate, with responsibility for overseeing and managing the Financial Reporting team, providing expertise in complex technical areas including balance sheet forecasting, capital accounting, VAT, and all aspects of IFRS and the DHSC financial reporting regime.


The role leads the year-round preparation for, and production of, the statutory annual accounts and external audit process, and so is a leader in the department in respect of professional standards, quality and technical expertise.

They also have a key responsibility for ensuring the underlying integrity of the Trust's accounting and financial controls.

  • To deliver high quality accounting services which achieve targets for timeliness, accuracy and financial control
  • To maintain the integrity of the financial systems within the Trust, to develop financial policies and practices as required, and liaise with external and internal audit and counterfraud
  • To lead the month end process for financial accounts and reporting to external agencies
  • To lead the production of the Trust Annual Accounts and manage the external audit process
  • To lead on tax issues including VAT compliance and proactive VAT planning
  • To provide technical accounting expertise and advise on governance and best practice across all aspects of the finance function
