FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.

Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth


job purpose:


The Construction Supervisor position is site based and primarily to support the Project Lead/Engineer in delivery and execution of agreed activity sets.


Their key purposes are detailed below:

  • Lead the delivery of the construction work in the field in accordance with the 68 week lookahead, coordinating resources, materials, permits and everything necessary to complete the work on time, in budget, to the design intent and to the required HSE and quality standards.
  • Direct, control and motivate the execution of construction work on behalf of INEOS, such that the allocated resources are in a position to deliver and perform to the required standards.
  • Monitor construction activities and pass technical queries to the project lead and seek resolution. Ensure projects are constructed to drawings, specifications and good construction practices.
  • Monitor the quality of construction work, assisting and coordinating the punching activities and coordinating the completions process. Managing the GOC process in line with the project schedule.

principle accountabilities:

Principle accountabilities of a Construction Supervisor position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Review scopes of work, execution plans, method statements and risk assessments to ensure that work can be executed safely and efficiently within timescales.
  • Provide progress reports to Project Manager to monitor the delivery, ensure problems/issues are anticipated/ identified/ flagged at the earliest opportunity and that appropriate mitigations/solutions are put in place etc.
  • Provide input into the Planning phase, construction phase, safety and engineering reviews.
  • Understand construction spend to assist delivery of events within agreed budgets.
  • Interfaces with Construction Manager, Project Managers and Asset Teams
  • Good decision making skills within all own area of expertise.
  • Able to build strong working relationships with key people involved in his project portfolio.
  • Working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 201
  • Disciplined planning and organisation skills together with the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Has a logical, proactive and methodical approach to problem solving,
  • The personal drive to take responsibility and drive delivery on behalf of the client.
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated and prepared to work flexibly in a changing environment
  • Commitment to excellent SHE performance and zero tolerance for unsafe conditions/ behavior's

special features:

This role shall require travel to between Kinneil, LPG and Dalmeny sites to support business requirements.


qualifications and technical experience:


  • Time served mechanical trade or HNC with minimum five experience in the Oil & Gas sector working as a Construction Supervisor.
  • IT literate and competent in the use of Microsoft office suite
  • Safety trained for managing site construction works, e.g. 5 day CITB SMSTS or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 201
  • Preferably literate with MAXIMO maintenance system.
