Main Purpose:

To assist in the delivery of high quality nail cutting service in accordance with agreed standards, organisational policies and procedures.

Position in Organisation:

Footcare Assistants are responsible to the Happy Feet Manager of the Service


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• To receive referrals from the Manager for appointments with clients as required at varying venues.
• To cut clients' nails at appropriate venues and record fully their foot care and health problems.
• To advise the Manager of any issues or concerns about clients or the work in general.
• To ensure that only decontaminated instruments are used in accordance with the specified guidelines.
• To ensure that the appropriate fee is collected and recorded at the end of each session and that all monies are reconciled and handed to the office as appropriate.
• To maintain clear and accurate records of contacts with clients.
• To keep the Manager/office informed of any changes in arrangements such as holidays and illness.
• To ensure an adequate supply of the necessary materials is held at all times.
• To attend team meetings and participate in training and other development activities as appropriate.
• To keep an accurate record of all hours worked and expenses incurred and submit claims to the office at regular intervals.
• To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required and will be expected to work effectively with others, to use initiative and to make a positive contribution to the work of the organisation.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential

The ability to undertake nail cutting, foot massage and client assessments. Training will be given.

• The ability to relate to the needs of older people, including frail clients or clients with mental health needs and disability
• The ability to be nonjudgemental and maintain confidentiality
• The ability to maintain accurate records
• To be numerate and IT literate
• Ability to work as a team
• Have excellent time management skills
• To possess good interpersonal skills

The following are preferred but not essential
Experience of toenail cutting as trained by NHS Podiatry services

Training in Emergency Treatments and health and safety issues

Own transport with ability to carry equipment and displays


Job Types:
Part-time, Temp to perm, Zero hours contract

Part-time hours: 7 per week

£10.90 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
We have a covid working policy which includes wearing ppe and cleaning between clients. We take clients temperatures upon entering the building and have a strict waiting outside policy. Covid is a serious risk to our clients.


Ability to commute/relocate:

• Bracknell: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

• GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

- customer service: 1 year (preferred)
