My client in
London is looking for an experienced
Band 7 Histology Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract.

Job Role:

The post holder will have delegated responsibility for the line management of the department e.g. Main Laboratory, Immunocytochemistry, Specimen reception/Cytology.
They will support the Cellular Pathology senior management team with the delivery of a high quality histopathology and cytology service.
They will provide expert technical support and advice to pathologists, clinicians and other staff to provide an efficient diagnostic service.
To direct staff resources into the appropriate areas of the Department in conjunction with the Operational Manager.
They will coordinate day to day delivery of training to technical staff, and manage scheduling of appraisals for staff under their line management hierarchy.
To coordinate enrolment, participation, and response to mandated EQA schemes.

Qualifications and Experience required:
-
HCPC registered as a BMS:

Sc Biomedical Sciences or Fellowship of Institute of Biomedical Sciences
Significant post HCPC registration experience within a Histopathology Laboratory
In depth knowledge and extensive practical experience of a range of Histological and cytological technical procedures.
Understanding of Quality control and Assurance
Experience of automated immunocytochemistry
Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and procedures
