We are currently expanding our team and seeking experienced Teaching Assistants with Team Teach training and confidence in managing challenging behaviour.

Position Overview:

As a Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant with Protocol Education, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with challenging behaviour in schools who support young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Our schools may also cater to children with learning difficulties, you will need to be adaptable to these needs.

This role requires individuals with Team Teach certification and a strong ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide oneonone and group support to students with challenging behaviour.
  • Implement Team Teach strategies to manage and deescalate challenging situations effectively.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other professionals to develop and implement behavior management plans.
  • Adapt and modify teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of individual students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment while maintaining a focus on student wellbeing.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure coordinated support.

Qualifications:

  • Team Teach certification is essential.
  • Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a setting with challenging behaviour.
  • Confidence and resilience in managing and deescalating challenging situations.
  • Relevant education or training in Special Education or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to different educational settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
