Job description
To contribute to the provision of a first-class fostering service for children and young people by working closely with the Registered Manager to effectively manage the social work team, support and review Form F assessments and support foster carers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To manage a team of Supervising Social Workers.
- To ensure compliance across the service to a high standard to achieve Outstanding in Ofsted inspections.
- To supervise, guide and advise social workers and other staff members.
- To promote Best Outcomes for Children and Young people
- To take responsibility for ensuring that the Agency's policies and procedures are implemented and monitored by social workers and that agency practice complies with UK legislation including the National Minimum Standards 2011 and the Fostering Regulations 201
- To commit to your professional development and training and promore with other staff.
- To work within financial budgets (determined by the senior management
- To promote placement stability, to create stability for Children and young people.
- To be a member of the Management Team and contribute to strategic planning for the agency.
- To work closely with the Recruitment team in the assessment of prospective foster carers,
- To adhere to timescales
- To ensure that the Agency's health and safety policies are carried out.
- To work closely with the Foster Panel Chair and Panel Administrator and to sit on panel as the panel advisor with leadership responsibilities and for quality assurance
- To take part in the provision of an 'out of hours' service on the senior duty rota.
- To liaise with Ofsted (or equivalent), including providing statutory notifications.
- To keep up to date of developments in the field of social work and fostering.
Leadership and management
- To promote learning and development in the workforce and contribute to the development and delivery of training across the workforce.
- To contribute towards the development and review of the Agency's policies and procedures.
- To engage in tasks relating to the management role.
