About the role
Newnham College wishes to recruit a Conference & Events Co-ordinator.

Working within the busy Conference & Events team, this role provides the first point of contact for internal and external clients.

Responsible for the implementation of conference and events contracts from initial enquiry to the fulfilment of the event, this role requires excellent customer service skills, efficient administration skills, flexibility and the ability to keep calm under pressure.


The College is an established venue for business and academic conferences, is a licenced wedding venue and hosts residential summer schools and a range of other events, dinners and meetings.

Working with the Conference & Events Manager and Accommodation & Events Co-ordinator this role will also be involved in growing the business and ensuring that the College's high operational standards continue to be met and maintained.


This is full-time, permanent post, working 37.5 hours a week although flexibility is a requirement as the post-holder will be required to attend events in the evenings and at the weekend. The salary is paid at point 35 on the University's single salary spine, currently £28,762 per annum. Benefits include access to the College's attractive pension scheme with a current employer contribution of 21.6%, holiday entitlement is to 33 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays), and there is a range of additional benefits, including free meals when on duty, free car parking where available and use of the College's gym facilities.

About you
You will have experience of working in a similar field and have demonstrable customer-orientated skills. An able and efficient administrator, you will be self-motivated, flexible and attentive to the detail.

Employing a professional and positive approach, you will be adept at building strong working relationships and effective in building the conference and events business at the College.
