Description

Responsible for ensuring adequate resources are employed to carry out the work safely, profitably, effectively and efficiently, within program durations and to a high standard, with no defects.

To communicate effectively with the ISU team, line managers, Client and members of the public.

The M40 is a 24/7 operation and therefore some night time working is required 1 week in 5

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Works manager duties in his absence
Support the Works Managers in developing and implementing innovation, strategy and new working practices
Ensure Team Leaders are engaged with their responsibilities
Manage subcontractor's work activities with specific responsibility to assigned discipline(s)
Prepare & deliver daily briefings
Book road space in conjunction with the planning department
Measure direct workforce performance outputs and report to Works Manager
Organise contract labour, plant and sub contract requirements in consultation with Works Manager
Ensure reporting of accidents, incidents and utility strikes in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with Egis policies, procedures and strategies
Carry out quality checks on works and record on appropriate pro forma
Identify variations/additional works and report to Works Manager
Ensure daily vehicle inspection sheets/drivers hours books are completed & up to date
Ensuring additional works and unforeseen costs are recorded and submitted to Works Manager
Deliver tool box talks to operatives and Sub Contractors
Ensure all Operatives and Sub Contractors are inducted onto Contract/Scheme
Ensure all operatives on site have had relevant method statement, risk assessment and COSHH briefings prior to commencement of work on site
Liaise with Local Authorities, Police as required to obtain necessary consents
Site visits as requested to ensure conformity with Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
To participate in outofhours Emergency, Call Out / Winter Maintenance operations.
Promote and develop teamwork, supporting colleagues, peers and managers
Develop a good working relationship with our Client
To carry out such other related duties as may be required.
Experience in Street lighting / electrics is preferable, however is not essential
The position comes with a work van.

Training:

You must hold a Lantra FISS/CSCS Gold Card or an ECS Gold Card or higher and sign off associated works applicable to these awards.

This will be paid for by the Company.

You will be required to be an on-call duty foreman, this is on rota with the other foremen. This duty does not attract any extra payments (e.g., night hours or duty pay).
