Description

We are looking for a Junior Merchandiser to join our B&M France Buying team, supporting the Senior Merchandiser in the day to day stock management of a homeware category.

The home category is one of the fastest turning, and best performing category at B&M France and is extremely fast paced, no two days are the same.

The role is based here at our Support Centre in L24 and is permanent and full time.

This will suit an existing Junior Merchandiser who wants more accountability, a strong Assistant Merchandiser ready to step up or an import merchandiser ready to migrate.

The Key Accountabilities in the role are:

Working to tight restrictions to ensure stock is maintained throughout the year at the correct levels.
Assisting with the creation of weekly core stock orders, which is the main task of the departments, managing these orders into the business efficiently
Analysing data from the previous year, and current trends to make the right decisions and identify "gaps " in current market
Cultivating close working relationships with key suppliers to ensure the business is supported by them
Maintain and update WSSI's & Linecards on a daily basis.
Working to calendars, which involves forecasting crucial lines for long periods
Work closely with our Freight Forwarder, ensuring containers are on the best vessels to meet your delivery schedule.
Being proficient in the use of Excel where the business uses heavily formulated worksheets.
Opportunity to travel on occasion to our Support Centre in France and work with our Buying team
Experience as a Junior Merchandiser or a strong Assistant Merchandiser ready to step up to manage own categories
Results orientated with a track record of achieving targets & delivering growth
Strong negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skill
Excellent communication skills, as each day the role will involve liaising with our factories across the world, and speaking with our French colleagues.
Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
Strong numerical and analytical skills, methodical with numbers
Able to utilise data to fully understand customer behaviour and habits
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office in particular Excel with real attention to detail
