SEMH Teaching Assistant

Veritas Education are searching for SEMH teaching assistants to work in a SEMH secondary school in Bradford. This role has a focus on behaviour support and behaviour management as well as de-escalating students in crisis. You will be supporting childrenwith Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH).

Role:

Throughout this role as a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support secondary students with their SEMH and SEN needs
You will be confident with deescalating challenging behaviours and encourage positive behaviour
Have firm and fair behaviour management and set clear boundaries
Support students in small groups and on a 11 basis with their learning
Be proactive and be a positive role model to the pupils

Requirements:

Previous experience in an educational or care setting is essential
Relevant training and certificates such as Team Teach is desirable, although training can be offered by Veritas
Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK
