Continued investment in novel low and zero emissions technologies, evolving sustainable supply chains, and developing a skilled workforce to deliver the next era of flight, GKN Aerospace; in connection with The Aerospace Growth Partnership (AGP) is at the heart of these developments.
Formed in 2010, The AGP is a joint Government - Industry initiative to help UK aerospace companies improve their competitiveness, boost growth and increase aerospace exports.
The AGP is a structure of Boards and groups where Government and Industry come together to tackle the barriers that our sector faces.
GKN Aerospace has been an active participant in this programme with John Pritchard, President Civil Aerospace representing GKN Aerospace on the AGP Board.
The AGP is governed by a Steering Board which is supported by four working groups, namely, Strategy, Skills, Manufacturing Supply Chain, and Engagement.
Each Working Group and the Board of the AGP is supported by one or more Programme Managers on secondment from industry.
The Programme Managers report to the AGP Programme Director and the Working Group Chairs.
Working with UK Government departments, the partnership drives sector policies and strategies that impact and benefit the whole of the aerospace sector.
This opportunity will give you an unrivalled insight into the operation of Government and Industry working in partnership in the UK.
The opportunity offers flexibility both in terms of base location out of any one of our UK sites; Solihull, Bristol, Portsmouth, Luton, London or Isle of Wight and regular hybrid working in line with business requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
Your primary objective will be to deliver the work of the AGP, supporting the Board and group meetings, delivering projects and coordinating activities across a number of working groups.
This will be achieved through the following activities:
Owning and delivering work packages for the working group and other priority deliverables of the AGP,
Demonstrating a hands-on approach to strategy development, programme management, and delivery,
Assisting the Chairs of the Working Group Chairs in their role, including standing in for them when needed, and providing project management support to the work package leads of the Working Groups in delivering their objectives,
Ensuring smooth and efficient operations of the Working Groups including scheduling, agenda setting, recording, reporting and communication of Working Group activities,
Measuring and reporting progress of work packages of the Working Groups to the Programme Director, the Working Group Chairs and to the Board,
Ownership of the Working Group calendar of events,
Representation of Working Group in internal and external forums as appropriate in conjunction with the Working Group Chairs,
Ensuring that Working Groups are operating in accordance with the terms of reference of the AGP,
Reporting to the PMO on a weekly basis on the activities of the Working Groups and the progress against their objectives.
Possess the ability to receive and act on instruction, guidance and direction from others.
Good communication skills; fluent in English language, both written and spoken
Perform well as member of a team.
Financial expertise
A degree in business management
Ability to create, manage and execute a project plan
Ability to achieve by influencing others
Awareness of the Aerospace industry
An awareness of Project / Programme Management method
