Job Description:


We currently have a vacancy at our Manchester Plant where we are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Team Leader.

The MTL's key responsibility will be to lead the maintenance of the site and ensure the site's equipment and facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.


You'll help drive personal development of the maintenance team as well as manage their day to day activities and look to implement continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical equipment and maintenance process on site.

Major / Key Accountabilities

Maintenance and Improvement

  • Manage the technician team and contractors as part of the maintenance intervention activities (preventive or corrective).
  • Identify, report and resolve health and safety concerns with the equipment and building services.
  • Ensure breakdowns of equipment are rectified in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Manage the repair and overhaul of all powered hand tools.
  • Manage and develop the PPM programme, ensuring that the scheduled work is carried out.
  • Control spares and consumables stocks with high accuracy, avoiding unnecessary inventory.
  • Manage the procurement of spares and equipment needed ensure continued operations.
  • Support the Process Reliability Program for site equipment. Ensure areas of losses are identified and reduced or eliminated.
Project Management

  • Provide support to the Technical Systems Leader on medium to large Capex projects.
  • Lead Engineering Projects of <80K$ from conception through to delivery and install.
  • Support the Q & V stage of the CQV phase of new line installation.
Building, Facilities and Utilities Management.

  • Ensure maintenance of all plant facilities and utilities system according to a maintenance schedule.
  • Monitor and optimise consumption of all utilities (electricity, gas, compressed air, water).
  • Maintain and ensure the working conditions of all employees, contractors and visitors within the plant.
  • Ensure electricity at work regulations including wiring testing and PAT testing of equipment.
Organization and Development

  • Manage the Technician team to ensure correct staffing levels are maintained.
  • Train, develop and supervise Repair & Maintenance operatives to complete routine maintenance and minor repair.
  • When staffing levels and plant conditions require, personally carry out reactive repair work and planned preventative maintenance within the plant, ensuring that health and safety within the entire plant is a priority.
Budget

  • Procurement of Spares and equipment needed ensure continued operations
  • Control spending and economic commitments in accordance with the budget allocated.
  • Master the execution of the purchasing orders of the materials and the services necessary for the functioning of the service, in agreement with the established purchasing procedures.
Qualification

  • City and Guilds, apprenticeship, HND, HNC or similar in an engineeringrelated discipline
Preferred Education

Technical/Professional Qualification - Electrical Engineering, Technical/Professional Qualification - Engineering Mechanics

Preferred Level of Work Experience

  • 5 years
