    Maintenance Manager Role Overview

    Pertemps Redditch Industrial is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our fleet and infrastructure maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining compliance with health & safety regulations, managing site maintenance, and leading a dedicated team.

    The Role:

    As the Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the maintenance department. You will report to the Senior Operations Manager and be responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance programs are in place, staff training is effective, statutory regulations are complied with, and budget management is efficient.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all maintenance operations comply with health & safety regulations and employees are fully trained.
    • Maintenance and Repair Operations: Oversee the maintenance and repairs of plant, equipment, and company vehicles, ensuring compliance with legislation.
    • Workforce Management: Manage workforce levels within budgetary constraints while maintaining efficiency and safety.
    • Quality Management Systems: Implement and maintain ISO 9000, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001 quality management systems.
    • Budget Development and Control: Develop and control operating budgets, ensuring cost-effective site operations.
    • Relationship Building: Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
    • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team, fostering positive employee relations and addressing performance issues.
    • Administrative Tasks: Ensure accurate and timely completion of all administrative tasks and reports.

    Person Specification:

    • Educational Qualifications: Educated to A-Level or equivalent; tertiary qualifications in process or engineering disciplines are desirable.
    • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of HGV and heavy plant operations, inspections, and maintenance is advantageous.
    • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a management role, including people management, within a manufacturing or process environment.
    • Demonstrable Experience: Demonstrable experience managing maintenance operations, ensuring compliance, and optimizing efficiencies.
    • Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams effectively.
