What we're looking for?
We are looking for a Regulation Analyst to be responsible for managing Wales & West Utilities' (WWU) day-to-day interests in covering Gas Act, Licence, and commercial agreements ancillary to those that are managed by the Regulation department.
You will also be responsible for monitoring delivery of some licence conditions in particular uncertainty mechanisms and supporting the work of others in the department who manage the annual reporting required by the licence.
We'll trust you to:
- Be the primary contact for WWU in respect of the Gas Act and WWU's licence. Being able to direct colleagues who have a question to relevant parts of the Gas Act or licence.
- Under guidance of the Regulation Manager, ensure that WWU engages with relevant change proposals to legislation impacting Economic Regulation and the WWU licence by identifying and engaging with the appropriate WWU business expert and attending workgroups as required either independently or with WWU business expert if appropriate.
- Supported by the Regulation Support Assistant, manage the WWU licence ensuring it is kept updated with all changes together with records to enable the history to be tracked. Ensuring annual licence compliance process is completed.
- Help WWU colleagues understand the parts of the Gas Act and licence that are relevant to them to enable them to ensure compliance and make best use of the opportunities available to them.

You'll need to have:
- Knowledge of one or more of the key accountabilities, knowledge of commercial, regulatory, or legal compliance
- Has some of or is able to quickly gain the following:
- Understanding of key WWU business drivers, objectives, and deliverables
- An understanding of the key parties in the gas industry and how they interact
- An understanding of WWU's relationship with Xoserve
- An understanding how the different pieces of legislation, licences and codes fit together coherently
- An understanding of how gas industry governance functions
- Good attention to detail and a proactive work ethic
- The ability to communicate effectively at a senior level internally and externally both orally and in writing
- Confidence and discretion to represent WWU appropriately in industry meetings
