Personal Care Assistant - Job Description


We are currently recruiting Personal Care Assistants for a variety of our bespoke packages located at either Burton on Trent (DE14), Penkridge (ST19) or Fulford _(female-only package) _(ST11).

Full-time, Part-time and bank (0-hour contract) permanent positions available

(Daytime or Weekends, you choose what works for you by providing your availability one month in advance where possible)


You'll go home every single day knowing that you've helped make a difference in someone's life, enabling and empowering vulnerable people toward achieving more and more independence and integration into their local communities.


You will support our Service Users in all aspects of daily living, this could include various domestic tasks, meal preparation, budgeting, engaging in activities and accompanying individuals at leisure activities or other outings into the community.

At Select Lifestyles Limited no two days are ever the same as all our support plans are tailored specifically to each individual and delivered in a completely person-centred way.

As one of our Personal Assistants, day-to-day responsibilities include but are not restricted to:

  • Following the individualised support plans, which work towards achieving each person's unique goals and aspirations.
  • Provide innovative and personcentred care for the people we support either on a 121 or 212 basis.
  • Embracing and fulfilling our company value to give every single Service User the support to live life to the full and as independently as possible.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of Daily Notes, Risk Assessments, Medication
Administration Records and Accident and Incidents Reports.

  • Liaise with Professionals, Service Users Families, our inhouse Positive Behaviour Support
Practitioner, Learning Disability Nurse and other Agencies when required.


About you


As a Personal Assistant, you will support and enable individuals to live a fulfilling lifestyle within the community that promotes and enhances personal choice, independence, and overall wellbeing.

You must be a compassionate, empathetic, and engaging person, that will always go that little bit further while helping and supporting others.


You must be willing to commit to a minimum of x2 shifts per month to keep up to date with fluid client needs and staff training requirements.

Set Shifts varying from 7 to 12 hours.
Full Training + Care Certificates
Full UK Driving Licence Required (Manual Desirable)


Ideally you will already have up-to-date mandatory training qualifications, however, this is not necessary as we can provide full training.

About us
Select Lifestyles Limited was established in 2007, and we provide specialist support for individuals with additional needs.

Our Service Users may be people living with Challenging Behaviours, Adults living with Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health, Autism and Complex Health Needs such as Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, RETTs Syndrome and Acquired Brain Injuries.

Some Service Users may also require support with catheter care or a PEG site.
