We have a fantastic Graduate (or equivalent) opportunity for a Graduate Buyer.

The key purpose of the position is to efficiently plan production output and co-ordinate the purchasing of bought in finished goods, in order to optimise sales potential against acceptable inventory levels.

Graduate Buyer:
Roles and Responsibilities

Works individually and directly with the Group Purchasing Manager to ensure the successful delivery of contracted supply activities
Supports the Sales with stock availability including updating Salesforce
Places and expedites orders to ensure schedules are met
Controls and runs the MRP
Coordinates improvement activity and optimise support from areas within the supply chain
Assists in the overall development, delivery and implementation of commodity strategies, covering supply markets, suppliers, market trends and risks and opportunities, with the strategies designed to identify and realise overall target productivity and supplier rationalisation
Supports the material planning team on expediting material to ensure OTIF schedule compliance.
Assists in the management of all phases of strategic sourcing and new model projects as required; data gathering, stakeholder engagement, enquiry process, negotiations, contract implementation and contract management
Supports with Group Purchasing Manager with development analysis and benchmarking to ensure the business achieves maximum value from its suppliers
Actively promotes and champion the use of best practice to ensure compliance with the organisations policies and procedures
Fosters close working relationships with stakeholders
Maintains accurate demand/sales forecasts
Takes ownership and resolve stock issues
Develops relationships with suppliers in order to reduce lead times and reduce inventory

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Selfdriven and thrives in a fastpaced environment
Strong organisational skills
Efficiently
communicate both verbally and in written form:
A friendly and professional manner with a calm and focused attitude towards workload
Ability to prioritise workload and multitask
An understanding of Salesforce
Strong Excel skills
High degree of commerciality
Desire to progress into a role that requires a high degree of negotiation

Graduate Buyer :
Preferred Skills
To be considered for this position you will ideally need to be degree educated (or CIPS standard) or equivalent experience, coupled with experience and a good understanding of supply chain processes, including sales and operations planning

Salary £25,000 per annum
