The Challenge


The MOD Guard Service is a significant 1-star area within DIO compromising over 2400 employees delivering unarmed guarding service is over 140 defence establishments in England Scotland and Wales.

MGS is a high performing progressive, customer-focused organisation providing a service to the highest professional standards it operates within an embedded culture of continuous improvement and modernisation with the strategic intent of being the unarmed guarding provider of choice for the MOD.

It's Head Office is divided between Goojerat Barracks Colchester, Donnington Telford and The Countess of Wessex Lines.


The MOD Guard Service (MGS) holds the National Security Inspectorate Gold Standard and is passionate about delivering great things for its customers and workforce.

It also has Customer Service Excellence accreditation and holds the Committed to Equality Gold Standard.


You will provide administrative support to the MGS in their Area of Responsibility (AOR) and to Business outputs as assigned by MGS Head Office.


Working with the MOD Guard Service (MGS) Business Secretariat Team, this post is responsible for supporting the consolidating and analysing all elements of Risk, Business and Operational performance for MGS delivery across over 140+ UK Defence establishments.


Person specification:


Main Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be working alongside the Business Secretariat Team, and you will be expected to:

  • Support in the collation & production of performance delivery data.
  • Coordinate and support the collation of Audit and Assurance data.
  • Provide admin support for IS Strategy Implementation
  • Coordinate administration of the supporting documentation/presentations for MGS Management Meetings.
  • Managing updates and actions to inform the management committee.
  • Provide Secretarial support to the MGS Management Meetings.
  • Provide administrative support/duties based on priority and demand in support of the wider business need.

Desirable Experience & Skills
