With business growing at an incredible speed, we have a new role open as Purchasing Assistant.

In your role as Transport Assistant, you will work as part of the Operations Team.

You will be responsible for booking deliveries, preparing paperwork for UK and International orders, tracking orders ensuring all PODs are received.

You will assist the Transport Coordinator in their day-to-day tasks, from liaising with hauliers and customers to book in deliveries and provide excellent customer service.

You will work closely with the factory team to aid the smooth running of the production facility, developing, and maintaining an excellent working relationship with our customers, logistics partners and working with other members of the operations team.

The role can be diverse and fast changing.

The transport assistant will have an excellent telephone manner, be adaptable and able to coordinate information between the factory and the office.

You will thrive in a very busy and demanding environment that requires the ability to multi-task effectively, remaining professional at all times.

You will be comfortable working to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  • Assist with the transport process, including preparing delivery documentation, labels and export documents.
  • Negotiate transport charges to ensure we remain competitive at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of despatches, nonconformances and order issues.
  • Coordinate with transport partners to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any issues or discrepancies
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as production, transport, and finance to ensure smooth operations
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers
  • Utilize OGL systems to input and track purchasing data
  • Previous experience in a logistics or administrative role preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of logistics processes and procedures

Pay:
£25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year

Education:


  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:


  • Customer service: 3 years (preferred)
  • Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
