Description

About Linklaters
Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.

We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment:

people who love working collaboratively anddemonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.

Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair and open atmosphere. We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity.

We celebrate all aspects of diversityand challenge any form of bias, because we want everyone to feel that they belong.

This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common mind-set.

We recognise that one size does not fit all.

Our goal is to embed flexibility across our firm by giving everyone the opportunity to work in an agile way, whether as a regular pattern or on an ad hoc basis, and we will be happy to discuss this further.

  • Effective written and verbal communication, especially in creating reports/papers and presentations
  • Evidence of using own initiative to drive work, explore new paths, test new ideas and loop in new people
  • An ambition and appetite to grow a career in sustainability

Expectations of the role

  • Conduct horizon scanning and collaborate with the wider sustainability team to identify key sustainability issues impacting the firm and its clients (from a sectorneutral perspective)
  • Work closely with strategy teams to embed sustainability priorities and initiatives within the firm's refreshed strategy and
  • Produce project plans for sustainability workstreams and initiatives

  • Support the firm's sustainability disclosure and reporting efforts (TCFD, UNGC, CDP etc)
  • Routinely update internal and external sustainability communication materials

The Team

  • The central small team includes two roles focusing on sustainability (including this post) as well as four working on community investment and four on pro bono (collectively 'Social Impact'). Though often seen as the 'friendly face' of the firm, theseroles are increasingly influential and performance expectations are therefore high. The team enjoys good access to senior people and with this comes responsibility for effective communication and swift turnarounds.
