An exciting opportunity exists for a Consultant Microbiologist to join the team within Berkshire & Surrey Pathology Services.

You will be based at Royal Surrey County Hospital, providing comprehensive microbiology and infection control services to the Trust and community users in the catchment area along with two other consultant colleagues.

Laboratory facilities are based at two sites.

At Frimley Park Hospital there is an extended laboratory on the ground floor with a full range of microbiological investigations, including routine culture, mycobacteriology, mycology and parasitology.

Virology laboratory facilities are at St. Peters Hospital and include molecular diagnostics and serology. We are committed to exploring new ways of working and have Kiestra and MALDI-TOF. The laboratory has full UKAS accreditation.

Berkshire & Surrey Pathology Services is a joint venture between Ashford & St.

Peters Hospitals, Royal Surrey, Frimley Health and The Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts and Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
