Dry Goods Operative

6 am to 6 pm on a two-on, two-off, three-on shift rotation

Pay rate - Up to £13.26 per hour

Hours 6 am - 6 pm

Week 1:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Week 2:
Wednesday and Thursday only

Edmunds, Suffolk has successfully grown to become one of the most prominent bacon, gammon and sausage processors in the UK with a rich heritage and strong vision.

To support our growth, we are now seeking a Dry Goods Operative to work in our dry goods department.


Role responsibilities include:


The efficient receipt and storage of all dry goods in accordance with company quality, hygiene and health and safety standards.


Duties include:

  • Accurately check goods in against the delivery note
  • Safe loading or unloading of all dry goods at either G60 or the main dry goods warehouse
  • Liaise with departmental charge hand and label coordinator in relation to operational requirements
  • Accurate picking of packaging and labels for production requirements
  • Accurate return of packaging and labels from production
  • Report any short shipments or damaged goods received to the packaging manager
  • Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained at all times
  • Report any health and safety hazards within the department
  • Compliance with health and safety rules at all times
  • Compliance with all company policies, practices, and standard operating procedures

Skills and experience required:

  • Working knowledge of the dry goods handled
  • Working knowledge of departmental work instructions
  • CIEH level 2 food safety for manufacturing
  • Reach Truck/FLT licence desired
