Must be able to drive or access to lifts as we are not on a local bus route

We are recruiting for a part time Kitchen Porter/Potwash to work in our busy kitchens at our HQ site.
The Kitchen Porter is responsible for keeping the kitchen areas clean, washing up and assisting the chefs when required.

You would be expected to work to the highest possible standard, in line with cleanliness standards set by the Head Chef.

Monday to Friday and full training will be given, it is a busy position and we are looking for a hard working and dedicated individual.

Job Purpose


To assist in the kitchen duties of our HQ site and occasionally off site at venues in respect of pot washing, some food preparation, cleaning, maintenance, health and safety and stock management.


Duties

  • Working with the operations team to ensure all crockery, cutlery and equipment is unloaded from the vans, stored safely in the unit, washed, dried and stored effectively
  • Ensure the unit and kitchens are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Working closely with the logistics team to assist in event preparation, loading and unloading the vans
  • To assist in the preparation of food when required
  • To wash and dry all kitchen equipment and ensure proper storage
  • To assist in ensuring a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food hygiene and to ensure safe working practices are followed. Any problems should be reported to the Head Chef
  • To assist in using the glass polisher and cutlery polisher as and when required
  • To assist in stock taking and storage of stock, including receiving and checking deliveries
  • Preparation of food items, salads, sandwiches, pre portions etc. as directed by the chef/event manager in order that the full menu of items can be provided.
  • Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking foodstuffs and helping to prepare salads and desserts
  • Disposing of rubbish in the appropriate places
  • Attending training courses as appropriate
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job
  • Undertake cleaning duties to include general cleaning of front of house areas and all dining areas, as well as cleaning kitchen surfaces including fridges and freezer units, as part of legal requirement to provide a clean and hygienically safe catering environment both at the unit and off site
  • To assist with functions acting as a Food and Beverage Assistant, working as part of the service delivery team and ensuring full cooperation at all times

Pay:
£6.40-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
