Description

It is a really exciting time to join the People Services team, with lots of opportunities for innovative thinking and collaborative working as part of the wider Derbyshire System, responding to the HR & OD Futures vision for the NHS people workforce and delivering the NHS People Plan and People Promise.

We are an outstanding Trust with a strong commitment to inclusion and belonging for all our staff.

As an Assistant Director of HR Operations you will report to the Deputy Director and take strategic responsibility for the following key portfolios of work

  • Recruitment
  • Temporary Staffing (including our responsibilities as 'lead employer' for the vaccination programme)
  • E-Rostering & Job Planning
  • People/Workforce Analytics
  • ESR and Workforce System

As well as providing leadership to the above teams, you will work alongside the Deputy Director of People Services & Organisational Effectiveness to continuously improve end-to-end processes in the above areas (including robotics automation), as well as playing a key role in developing a model for 'scaling-up' people services within the Derbyshire system.

You will develop and deliver a strategic response to the Trust's recruitment and resourcing challenges and as part of the 'joint venture' between Derbyshire Community Health Services and Derbyshire Healthcare, you will take strategic responsibility for ensuring that the recruitment team and temporary staffing team are able to respond to the operational needs of services within both Trusts.

You will also oversee a 12-month programme of work to implement 'Culturally Intelligent' approaches to recruitment, with a view of rolling out the practices across the Derbyshire system

Finally, you will be the strategic lead for analysis and provision of people data and the Electronic Staff Record for both Derbyshire Community Health Services and Derbyshire Healthcare and a key stakeholder in the 'Derbyshire Digital' Project.

You must be an expert HR Practitioner with experience of managing HR processes in a large and complex organisation.

As a leader with highly developed people management skills you will be able influence senior managers across two complex organisations.

A thorough understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is essential for this role.

We offer a wide range of benefits including a generous NHS pension scheme, 27-33 days annual leave, structured learning and development opportunities including a yearly appraisal and commitment to ongoing training.

This is a genuinely unique opportunity for an individual with a passion for transformation to make an impactful difference.
