The post holder will work in a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist expertise and contribute to the prostate cancer diagnostic pathway.

They will also work with colleagues to provide active surveillance for suitable prostate cancer patients.

The successful applicant will be experienced in carrying out transrectal ultrasound-guided and transperineal template biopsies of the prostate and will be expected to lead service development in this pathway.


The post carries the following responsibilities:

  • Provision of expertise in prostate cancer diagnosis
  • Provision of benign diagnostic urology triage and clinics
  • Participation in multidisciplinary meetings
  • Delivery of highquality clinical outcomes
  • Development of information systems to assess and report on key clinical outcomes
  • Contribution to the development of referral pathways and protocols across the system
  • Lead and participate in suitable clinical trials
