£24,300 - £30,600 per annum


Location:
Cambridge, Hybrid (2 days a week at the office)


Contract: 9 months Fixed-term contract, Full time (35 hours a week)

About the role


The Associate Designer role is a key position within our Books Content Operations team, requiring a unique blend of technical and creative skills in the field of book publishing.

The primary responsibilities encompass ensuring the suitability of cover images, commissioning diverse covers from freelance designers and agencies, and upholding our quality and brand standards.


We foster a culture of continuous improvement, where every team member is encouraged to contribute ideas and recommendations for enhancing our processes and collaborative work.

Building and maintaining open and communicative relationships among team members is fundamental to our working practices, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.

About you


We are seeking a creative and proactive individual who excels in time management, enabling them to effectively prioritise conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.

As an excellent communicator, you can articulately and honestly express your thoughts and ideas while respecting the perspectives of others and the collaborative nature of our team.


Accurate record-keeping of work in progress and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems are essential skills for this role.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software is required, along with demonstrated technical and aesthetic design abilities supported by relevant qualifications or experience.

A keen interest in and awareness of the Academic publishing industry is highly desirable.


While knowledge of printing and manufacturing specifications, as well as digital specifications, would be advantageous, it is not a prerequisite for the role.
