We are looking for an
IT Support Team Leader - London with the aim of contributing to the IS&T customer service reputation by maintaining a high level of customer focused service through consistent delivery of professional and polite support.


  • Coordinate and oversee Site Support services for our customers in London Headquarter operations and also in the EMEA region.
  • Ability to mange internal and external "key" stakeholders
  • Deliver end to end visibility of Rio Tinto's Site Support Services from an operational perspective.
  • Work collaboratively with various IS&T teams to ensure that first level support of their managed equipment and services is agreed and understood.
  • Contribute to the Site Support roadmap for Rio Tinto, bring operational and support considerations together with technical and architectural considerations from other parts of IS&T and the broader business.
  • Build and maintaining relationships with our key vendor partners.
  • Lead our vendor partners to meet our requirements and identify and implement opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure operational risk is well understood and controls are in place and maintained to mitigate or eliminate.
  • Contributing to the IS&T customer service reputation by maintaining a high level of customer focused service through consistent delivery of professional and polite support
  • Managing and aligning customer expectations against IS&T priorities to ensure all incidents and requests are managed in line with operational requirements
  • Work with key contacts at the Business Unit level in order to gain a better understanding of their operating environments to ensure Service Support alignment.
  • Managing complaints and escalations in a serviceoriented manner.
  • Commitment to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures and activities.

What you'll bring

  • A strong safety mindset
  • Previous experience leading "Frontline" Technology Teams
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills
  • Experience working on an Enterprise Operations team.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in IT or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Good relationship building skills
  • A successful track record of vendor and contract management.
  • Experience with coordination and management of resources.
  • A broad understanding of IT equipment and systems.
  • ITIL experience

It will also be beneficial if you have:

Where you'll be working
Rio Tinto's global headquarters is situated in St.

James's Square, in the City of Westminster, London, on the edge of the West End, and is the site of the group's original head office.

Located over several floors, the office is truly a global hub for the business, and is the base for many members of the Executive Committee.

As such, the grade II listed office reflects the vibrancy of the location, although it also overlooks the tranquillity of the only garden square in the district, and is a short walk from Green Park and Piccadilly underground stations.
