This role is within the News UK Finance team.

It is a hybrid working model however there will need to be travel to both the London Head Office and our Peterborough Office.

Interaction will also be with people in other Finance teams across the globe, including Dow Jones and News Australia.


Your role:


This role is a once in a career opportunity to play a lead role on a transformational Finance Systems project. **News UK is in the process of investing in and transforming our Finance Systems landscape. We will not only be moving our core ERP system to S/4 HANA, but also implementing new additional systems including those for Procurement, Contingent Workforce and various other activities.

As
Reporting Lead, your role will be to establish and lead the programme's reporting transformation agenda. This role will be the programme's hub for designing, building and deploying the reporting capabilities within the Finance project. Your role will report into the
Head of Finance Systems Solutions.**
You will be responsible for:
  • Defining the reporting strategy for the business teams impacted by the Finance Transformation
  • Identifying which reports are needed by which teams at what times.
  • Ensuring all current reports are documented, with clear owners, data flows and end users.
  • Mapping existing reporting through to 'to be' future state reporting, including identifying which future state system the reporting will be run from (e.g. SAC, S/4 autodashboards etc) to ensure all reporting requirements are carefully planned for.
  • Documenting user profiles for self serve dashboard reporting within future state systems.
  • Working cross stream with all the relevant workstream leads to ensure reporting is fully understood at the total level.
  • Working with the SI (systems implementation) partner to challenge the business on future reporting needs, determine fit gap analysis and work to bring stakeholders along the journey.
  • Rationalisation of reporting outputs to meet the system capabilities.
  • Working with the SI to ensure reporting in the 'to be' future state is much more robust and automated than it is currently.
  • Work with the BI and data teams to ensure alignment between data and reporting.
  • Understand data flows between upstream systems and end reports, ensuring reporting is factored in to the end to end process design.
  • Providing the necessary advice, education, and coaching to the business and other stakeholders regarding the proper implementation of reporting capabilities.
  • Work closely with the change team to ensure business impacts relating to reporting changes are documented and remediations captured.
  • Work with the training team to develop appropriate training material for reporting.
  • Support the PMO and programme leadership to develop governance materials such as weekly reporting and SteerCo reporting.
  • Coordinate with other projects and programmes in News UK that may have an impact on the programme and manage those impacts from a change perspective.
All colleagues will have to work together as a team, supported by leadership, to deliver this programme. This also means there may be times when everyone has to support other workstreams at peak load times.


What we're looking for from you:
We're looking for an experienced Reporting Lead, with a track record of delivering this capability within a large scale and complex programme, including:

  • Experience of successfully building and running a similar reporting stream in complex transformation programmes.
  • 510 years of reporting experience.
  • Be extremely proactive and be prepared to 'lean into' challenges and challenging situations when they arise.
  • Experience in stakeholder management.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and the programme team
  • A proactivity to be curious; preempt issues, challenge, ask the right questions and propose solutions rather than wait for questions.
  • Be able to cut through complexity and get to the 'so what?', enabling effective communication to senior leadership and providing clear, polished, and concise outputs.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to support the business, building your knowledge and your network to enable this.
  • Calmness under pressure and an expert ability in problem solving under ambiguity.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with effective time management and prioritisation.
