Housing Advisor

We are seeking a Housing Advisor to play a vital role in providing specialist advice in our Hastings Advice Service.


About the role:


As Housing Advisor, you will be working for a people-led organisation whose mission is 'combating homelessness, creating opportunities, promoting change.

'
You will provide specialist level advice in relation to homelessness, possession proceedings, disrepair and other housing matters.

The Housing Advisor will provide advice under the Legal Aid Agency Legal Help Scheme, having a good working knowledge of the scheme would be advantageous.

You will also be required to participate in the Housing Possession Court Duty Desk Scheme.


About you:


To be successful in the role of Housing Advisor you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of the organisation.

Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:


  • Experience of providing specialist legal advice and assistance on housing issues
  • Experience of providing advocacy on the Housing Possession Court Duty Desk Scheme
  • Experience of meeting billing targets
  • Experience of managing a client caseload and writing accurate case notes and reports
