The Recipe

  • This role is a job share and working days are Monday, Tuesday and half day Wednesday where you will be working from our Newburn site with travel to Stockton once a week. You will provide the best possible experience for our people across our business, by supporting the People Partner in the provision of high quality, consistent, efficient advice. You will also be expected to provide guidance and coaching to leaders across the site. We are currently undergoing a huge, exciting transformation within our People function, which redefines how we support the business. Our vision is to achieve a sustainable high performing, engaged workforce through a transformed HR & People function.

The Role

  • Our People Advisor opportunity will be a busy and varied role however your key area of focus will be to provide expertise to our line managers on a range of people issues which enable the effective management of people performance, talent and engagement in line with lead for growth objectives. Your experience in a similar role will support you in the provision of consistent, high quality advice and the delivery of effective solutions across a range of people matters. You will work closely with our People Partner, providing insight and collaborating on key people activities. You'll have experience of using HR systems, ideally cloudbased. You will regularly use data, initiative and judgement to identify continuous improvement opportunities, whilst also supporting our people to make effective and timely business decisions.

Essential Ingredients

  • Experience of providing people related advice and guidance to employees and line managers.
  • Knowledge and experience within a HR generalist environment
  • Good understanding of employment law.
  • Experience of providing people related transactional support in a busy environment.
  • Strong administration skills including Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to manage a varied programme of work, manage expectations and conflicting priorities.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to positively challenge, influence and coach managers whilst providing a supporting service outcome.
