JOB TITLE:

Workshop Welder/Fabricator


REPORTING TO:

Workshop Foreman


MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:


To complete the manufacture, repair and refurbishment, including associated inspections and tests of both Marwood owned and external customers owned plant in accordance with Marwood Quality Procedures, specifically MQP40.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manufacture, repair or refurbish a range of Marwood owned equipment that comply with issued engineering drawings, ensuring the product(s) produced, repaired or refurbished are to the specifications detailed, whilst achieving cost and quality objectives
  • Complete repairs and refurbishment to Marwood external customer owned equipment with and without the aid of engineering drawings
  • Assemble & fabricate including all cutting to size & welding to BS 4872 Part
  • Undertake the repair and testing of company and/or customer owned lifting chains and/or lifting equipment in line with current legislation
  • Support the workshop team by operating all workshop machinery, bending, punching or sawing of materials to assembling parts instructed by the Workshop Foreman parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment
  • Ensure all paperwork is fully & accurately completed
  • Complete, record and submit to the Workshop Foreman, using the appropriate paperwork all final inspections, check sheets and test records
  • Ensure Repair job sheets are signed and dated and all relevant information is entered once work is completed
  • Ensure all timesheets are accurately completed and submitted to the Workshop Foreman on a daily basis
  • Validate Thorough Examinations & witness tests when necessary
  • Observe general workshop discipline, promoting a high standard of behavior and an adaptable approach to tasks allocated
  • Adhere to all Marwood working practises and Health & Safety Legislation to ensure the welfare of all workshop staff
  • Work collaboratively with all other business functions to ensure the smooth operation of the workshop
  • Ensure all tooling and specialist equipment is checked, tested and compliant, prior to use, highlighting any shortfalls in equipment maintenance immediately to the Workshop Foreman
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working area(s)
